NEWARK SHOUT-OUT FROM GWEN STEWART

Hey all you Jerseyites out there!!! This is Gwen Stewart Newark's own. This is my first time blogging EVER and I thought it appropriate to start in my home town. We opened Tuesday night to a great crowd. I think there were some NY folks there as well. We got mad Metro love!! I've never performed at NJPAC before so this is a thrill for me. It is a BEAUTIFUL house. I have never been in it though I saw it going up before I moved to California. The tour has been going great. Our audiences have been wonderful and are embracing our show whether they are RENT virgins or have seen it a million times. I always said this show was timeless and you have proven me right. Tuesday night's audience was super insane. For those of you who didn't know Cary Shields went on for Adam as Roger and did a bang up job!!! Kudos to you my friend. But Adam was back Wednesday night and the ladies went wild!!! Who doesn't love Adam Pascal? lol anyway I'm looking forward to the rest of the week. It's gonna be a blast. I will be sad to leave home, but I gotta get back "On The Road Again." I don't have a Facebook page yet but soon and I hope to finally get to chat with some of you who have shown your love to me over the years. I hear there is a page dedicated to me?!!! HOW AWESOME IS THAT!!! Thank you whoever you are. Muah hugs and kisses from Lady G. blog ya later (^_^)

Thank you Gwen!!!! You are such an amazing performer!! I saw the show closing night in Cleveland and was just weeping (with joy and love!) during your SOL solo. And you are so right - who doesn't love Adam Pascal!! (or as we Pascalians like to call him "Ladyjeans"!) LOL Thanks again and enjoy the rest of the tour!!

Hey Gwen!

Isn't NJPAC beautiful? I love it as a concert hall, although a far cry from the Nederlander. A bunch of us New Yorkers are coming out tomorrow, hope to see you at some point! We were around Tuesday and yesterday but kept missing you at stagedoor. As always, you've been amazing on stage.

Thanks for blogging Gwen. It's great of everyone to keep the fans in the loop with what's happening on the tour. I was lucky enough to see the show twice here in Cleveland. You were amazing of course. I hope to see the show again in Pittsburgh and I hope to get the chance to meet you then too since I didn't in Cleveland. Looking forward to you being on Facebook. I'm already a member of the fan page.

You're amazing, Gwen! I'm so glad I got to see you in your hometown of Newark on the 14th. Thanks for blogging, I feel like I get to know everyone through the blogs.. I would love it if a DVD version of this tour was going to be released, I think it would be amazing to have you, Adam and Anthony performing live and be able to watch it a million times over! A soundtrack would be just as amazing!

I wish these were being sold!

The show was breath taking, all the performances were alive and full of character! Wish I could see it again! I think I'm going to drive down to DC to see it again in May :)

I saw you at NJPAC on Valentine's Day. I was not feeling well and had a fever, and I had just left my university because of my battle with Anorexia. I love RENT more than anything, and it means more to me than words can express. I saw the show on Broadway right before in closed at the end of August, and I was thrilled to be able to see it again in Jersey. (As a fellow Jerseyite, I loved the change of line to "You can take the girl out of Jersey, but you can't take the Jersey out of the girl"!!!!) I've got the entire score committed to memory, but it never ceases to move me. I saw the film from the last Broadway performance in a movie theatre at college.. only a handful of people were there, and they looked at me oddly when they left during the "Seasons of Love" encore and I was sobbing hysterically hahah. You are sooooo talented, as is the whole cast, and I can only dream to one day be a part of something so spectacular. RENT has inspired me to recover from my eating disorder and continue with my Theatre/Voice double major. Theatre CAN change the world, and it has changed mine, to quote Wicked, "for good." THANK YOU.
