HELLO FROM TRISHA JEFFREY

We’re in Tempe, Arizona this week and boy, it feels good to be here! New York has always been my home, and though I’ve traveled to many new places, Arizona has not been one of them. It’s so crazy that I get to reunite with my family, whom I haven’t seen in y-e-a-r-s! Who would’ve thought that my urbanite baby brother would fall in love with Phoenix, or that my mom would be so lucky to be able to visit him, the very same week that I’m in town?! They will get to see me perform in RENT for the very first time and they are just going to love it. Before going on this tour, I never imagined myself visiting a place like Tempe. In fact, I’d never even heard of it! Did I mention I’m a born and raised New Yorker? :) Between the sunny, warm climate – which my body and spirit just craves, and all the cool things around Arizona State University, plus that hippie store on Mill Avenue, I feel quite at home. So far, I’ve gotten a real good taste of what Tempe has to offer and I’m looking forward to more. Here’s a picture that I took while hanging at the Gordon Biersch Brewery & Restaurant with my buddies from the RENT band, Jeff Potter and David Truskinoff. We got a fun, savory sampler of the Brewery’s great German beer. I recommend the Dunkelweizen, anytime!

that's so cool about your mom & brother :) i was in arizona city about a month ago, and the weather is definitely a lot more pleasant than it is on the east coast! it does take a while to drive everywhere though, since everything's so far away. anyway, glad to know everything's going well on tour :)

Arizona this time of the year is heavenly! ;) I have only been there once, but it was nice compared to leaving the east coast and it was only 11 degrees! LOL Enjoy the rest of your stay in Arizona and good luck with the rest of the tour! Thanks for posting too! ;)

I love the area around ASU. I've been there a few times for softball camps. And it's gotta be beautiful there right now.

You guys were amazing in so.cal. And I'm kinda sad you're gone. I had the best experience of my life when I sat in the front row on Sunday. It's not even a week ago and I still can't believe it happened.

From a fellow New Yorker at heart (no matter how long I am based in the desert - I'm still a NYer!), I was beyond excited to catch RENT's run through Tempe. I just attended the show last night and it was beyond incredible. Did not think after seeing the show for the first time 11 years ago, that I would have the chance to see it again with such a powerful cast... and in the desert of all places. Thank you to everyone for one of the most memorable performances that will stick with me for a long time.

I am glad you enjoyed Tempe! This is my home, Arizona State was my University, and it was wonderful to have the tour come to town! Glad you were able to experience the town, and I was happy to see such a great turn out for the performances. With the way traffic was in Tempe, it seemed the show went well. Good luck on the rest of the tour!
